Possible problems this kit covers

What each situation looks like, what to do, and which tool from the list above handles it.

On the road

Dead battery

Symptom: Won't start, clicking, or dashboard lights are dim.

What to do: Jump it, or clean corroded terminals if the connection looks crusty or loose.

From your toolkit (tap to buy):

Flat tire

Symptom: Sudden pull to one side, thumping, or a tire visibly low or flat.

What to do: Swap to the spare, or plug it first if it's a simple tread puncture and you don't want to lose the spare.

From your toolkit (tap to buy):

Wheel stuck to the hub

Symptom: Lug nuts are off but the wheel won't budge from a rusted hub.

What to do: A few sharp mallet strikes on the back of the tire, opposite the lug studs, usually frees it.

From your toolkit (tap to buy):

Slow leak from a damaged valve stem

Symptom: A tire keeps going low over hours or days, not from a puncture.

What to do: Swap the valve core, which is often the actual leak point.

From your toolkit (tap to buy):

Blown fuse

Symptom: One thing stops working at once: a headlight, wipers, radio, or a power outlet.

What to do: Find the dead fuse in the box and swap it for the same amp rating.

From your toolkit (tap to buy):

Leaking or split coolant hose

Symptom: Steam from under the hood, or a sweet smell and dropping coolant level.

What to do: Let the engine cool completely, then wrap the leak or tighten the clamp to limp to a shop.

From your toolkit (tap to buy):

Dragging plastic underbody shield

Symptom: Scraping sound, or a panel hanging low under the front or side of the car.

What to do: Re-seat the clips if you can, or zip-tie it up out of the way.

From your toolkit (tap to buy):

Warning light comes on

Symptom: Check engine, battery, or another dash light lights up while driving.

What to do: Read the code so you know if it's safe to keep driving or you need to stop.

From your toolkit (tap to buy):

Broken serpentine belt

Symptom: Squealing, loss of power steering, or the battery light comes on while driving.

What to do: A spare belt gets you moving again if you can identify the right one and have basic tension tools.

From your toolkit (tap to buy):

Off-road / trail

Airing down and back up

Symptom: You've lowered tire pressure for traction and now need to reset it for pavement.

What to do: Deflate to your trail target before, re-inflate to street pressure after.

From your toolkit (tap to buy):

Stuck in mud, sand, or a rut

Symptom: Wheels spin without the vehicle moving forward.

What to do: Recover with a strap and another vehicle, or dig out and use traction boards.

From your toolkit (tap to buy):

Loose skid plate or frame bolts

Symptom: New rattle or clank after rough trail sections.

What to do: Re-torque the bolts you can reach, and penetrating oil on anything rusted.

From your toolkit (tap to buy):

Dragging exhaust hanger or bracket

Symptom: Exhaust is loose or scraping after a rough trail.

What to do: Wire it up out of the way until you're back to pavement.
